R/V TIOGA - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution

“The TIOGA has turned out to be far more capable than we envisioned during the design process. We had a series of meetings with WHOI scientists to customize the design of the boat for maximum flexibility and Roger was able to incorporate many of their higher priority requirements into the design. The vessel’s speed and fuel performance exceeded the specifications and the design allows her to carry out more tasks than we ever expected. After years of operation, there is little we would change.”     ~ Dutch Wegman, Port Engineer

The hull of the Fay Slover was lengthened by 5 feet to produce greater propulsion efficiency and additional deck space. The usage and utility of this vessel have far exceeded the original design brief and operational plans.
